Climate Change Specialist
PhD Candidate in Climate Change and Sustainable Development Policies (University of Lisbon); MSc Environmental Management (Jean Piaget University of Cabo Verde)

Mahugnon Serge Djohy is a climate finance and adaptation expert with over 15 years of experience in Western Africa and Small Island Developing States (SIDS). He has worked extensively on technical assistance projects to strengthen institutional capacities for accessing climate finance, including support for Cabo Verde's Long-term Low Emission and Climate-Resilient Development Strategies (LT-LEDS).

Mahugnon has also contributed to national adaptation planning processes and climate finance access strategies for countries like Senegal, Benin, Burkina Faso, and Uganda. His work includes engaging stakeholders at the local and national levels to build capacities for effective climate action. He has served as a consultant for organizations such as GCF, GEF, and the NDC Partnership.

His primary skills include climate finance strategy development, project evaluation, and institutional strengthening for climate resilience.
